Paulette D. Beaulac, 79, died May 8, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Wakefield, KS. A funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 18 at Zion Lutheran Church in Linn. Pastor David Gruoner officiated. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn. Paulette was born December 12, 1932 to Paul and Gladys (Napp) Hasler in Alton Illinois. She grew up in Alton, IL, and attended Alton High School. In December 1949, she married Jim Thompson in Alton. They were blessed with three children, Barbara Jo, David Keifer, and Mark Kevin. In 1960, she married Delmer Bennett. Shortly after the couple moved to Greenleaf, KS, and began their life together they were blessed with five additional children; Lauree “Paula”, William Joseph, Carl Dean, Barbara Jean, and Paul Ray. Paulette worked for years in the Health and Wellness community in Clay Center, KS. She started out as a nurse’s aide and then switched to Environmental Services for the Clay County Hospital. Additionally, she worked at Hutchinson Mayrath in Clay Center and was also a motel manager at Super 8 in Hays, KS. After retiring she continued helping others by working for the Meals on Wheels program in Greenleaf. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary Club for 50 years. Paulette had a love for animals and always tried to help them, but her greatest passion was for the wolves, Indians, chocolate, and ice cream. She was preceded in death by her parents; and children, David Thompson, Mark Thompson, Billy Bennett, and Barbara Jean Bennett. Survivors include her children, Barbara (Chuck) Brown, Grant NE, Lauree “Paula” Burwell, Ogden, KS, Carl Bennett, Clay Center, KS, and Paul Bennett, Salina, KS; sister, Nancy (Larry) Allsman, Alton, IL; twenty-six grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
