Robert L. Duensing, 65, Linn, died Thursday, September 6 at the Clay County Medical Center. Bob was born in Chanute, Ks on June 13, 1942 to Hilbert and Vera (Grefe) Duensing. He was a farmer and was a conservation contractor. Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy Wienke on April 17, 1971 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Linn. They were blessed with two children, Alan and Mary. He was preceded in death by his father, Hilbert in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; mother, Vera Duensing, Linn; son, Alan Duensing and wife Yvette, Linn; daughter, Mary Hornbostel and husband Allen, Palmer; 6 grandchildren; his birth mother, Eva Palmer, Emporia; half brothers, Jerry Palmer, Bill Palmer, and Alvin Palmer; and half sisters, Shirley Depew and Betty Rhoades. A memorial service will be at 10:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wednesday, September 12, 2007. Pastor David Gruoner will officiate. Eunice Beier, organist, will play congregational hymns, “How Great Thou Art”. The Lord Is My Shepherd I’ll Not Want” and “Amazing Grace”. Inurnment will be in the church cemetery. Respect calls will be at the Ward Funeral Home in Linn Tuesday, Sept 11 from 6 to 8 pm A memorial fund has been established and will be designated by the family at a later time.
