Dolores M. Loud

Dolores Marie Loud, 81, of Greenleaf, died Tuesday March 27, 2012 at the Washington County Hospital. A graveside funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 31 at the Homestead Cemetery, Homestead, OK. Terry Strader officiated. The pallbearers were Kevin Gloodt, Kalyn Gloodt, David Duncan, Troy Strader, Brianna Bowen, Kristopher Gloodt and Travis Winebrinner. The honorary pallbearers were Gary Bowen, Starr LoNero and Jerry Goforth. Burial was in the Homestead Cemetery, Homestead, OK. Dolores was born April 15, 1930 near Homestead, OK, the daughter of Ralph C. and Bessie L. (Marx) Strader. She attended schools at Nowata, OK, and Hood River, OR. She worked at Astro Aeronautics before attending Mesa College in San Diego, CA. She became a dental hygienist and worked in a private practice and later the Naval Training Center at San Diego. In 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Bowen. They later divorced. On August 29, 1968, she married Robert G. Loud at San Diego. Dolores loved to travel and lived many places including San Diego until 1986, from 1986 to 2002 at Bella Vista, AR, 2002 to 2010 at Wakefield, KS, and moved to Greenleaf, KS, in 2010. She enjoyed china painting, golfing, shopping, spending time with family and eating at Red Lobster. Dolores was a member of the Wakefield Library Club and Wakefield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Gerald Strader. Survivors include her son, Gary K. (Judy) Bowen, San Diego, CA; daughter, Kathryn Dill, Arkansas City, KS; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
