Faith I. Lindsley, 87, Washington, died August 21, 2007 at the Homestead Nursing Home, Washington. Faith was born March 4, 1920 at Morrowville to Lyle and Muriel (Tipton) Fraser. She grew up in the Morrowville area and attended Grand View Grade School for 8 years, the same school her father attended. Faith graduated from Morrowville Rural High School in 1938 and then furthered her education at Stewart Beauty Academy in Topeka in 1938-1939. Returning to Morrowville, she worked for Clara Mathy, and later purchased the equipment and opened her own beauty shop until she closed it in January 1942. Mrs. Lindsley was active in the Christian Church in Morrowville. She was Baptized on January 6, 1946 at the church by Alvin Ball. She taught the Nursery Sunday School Class for many years. Faith was a member of the Willing Workers and enjoyed getting together with this group weekly to quilt and work on their other projects, She also was very involved with the Pursley and Stick-To-It 4-H clubs not only as a child, but also as a leader, teaching sewing and leter crocheting. Faith was a charter member of the Morrowville Extension Unit whos name was later changed to Morrowville Extension Homemakers Unit. Faith was united in marriage to DeVere Lindsley on January 15, 1941 in Concordia, KS at the home of Clyde and Whaunita Lindsley. This union was blessed with four daughters, Fern, Annalee, Colleen, and Lyneta. Faith was preceded in death by her husband, DeVere on December 15, 1995; her parents; a son in law, Bob Lampe; and a sister, Phyllis Jennings. Survivors include her daughters, Fern Lampe, Lincoln, NE, Annalee Novak and husband Les, Munden, Colleen Terpening and husband Mike, Seneca, Lyneta Baxter and husband Ed, Carbondale; a sister, Loraine Lindsley, Morrowville; and 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Funeral service for were held at the Morrowville Christian Church, Friday, August 24 at 10:30 am. Pastor Ron Brown officiated. Burial was in the Morrowville Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to be designated by the family at a later time. Ward Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
