Charles Lee Kolman, 57, of Council Bluffs, IA, died June 18,2007 in Omaha, NE, following an illness with cancer. He was born March 23, 1950 in Concordia, KS, the son of Joe and Doris Bertram Kolman. Mr. Kolman was a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. He then attended North Central Kansas Technical Institute in Beloit for Auto Mechanics. In 1969 he moved to Omaha, NE and worked for Duncan Hines for 18 Years until it moved out of Omaha. He then worked for 9 years at Omaha Standard as a machinist, building truck beds and accessories. In his spare time he enjoyed karaoke, motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He was one of the founding members and a long term member of the ABATE organization of Council Bluffs. Mr. Kolman is survived by sons, Erik Kolman of Council Bluffs, and Brett Kolman, Sidney, IA, and his mother, Doris Kolman, Washington, KS. Other survivors include his brothers and sisters, LaDonna Reyes (Gerry) Winthrop Harbor, IL, Mary Lou Walter (Bill) Washington, KS, Beverly Kolman Wichita, KS, John Kolman (Jutta) Grand Rapids, MI, Kenneth Kolman (Shirley) Valley Center, KS, Irene Shepherd (Bill) Kansas City, MO and their families, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services will be held on June 30, 2007 at the Morrowville cemetery west of Morrowville, KS at 11 AM with Pastor John Frey officiating. The family will be available to greet friends at a luncheon at the Christian Church Education Building in Washington, KS following the service. A memorial fund has been established to be designated at a later date.
