Washington- Violet Marybelle Henke, 90, Washington, died Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at the Homestead Nursing Home. She was born on April 25, 1917 to George and Minnie Belle (Stone) Rudkins in Franklin Township near Hollenberg. She married Henry August Henke on June 2, 1934 at Hanover. Violet was a homemaker and worked on the farm and ran a dairy operation with her husband. She also was an avid gardener and canned her produce from the garden. Violet was a lifetime resident of Washington County and attended the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry, February 13, 1992; brothers, William, Leroy and Edd Rudkins; and a sister, Helen A Rudkins. She is survived by a sister in law, Lucille Rudkins, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Violet was held, Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Ward Funeral Home, Washington. Pastor Phil Morris officiated. Burial was in the Hollenberg City Cemetery, Hollenberg. Casketbearers were, Bob Kern, Bill Kern, Gale Wehling, David Iwert, Dennis Baumgartner, Terry Bailey and Jeff Talkington. A memorial was established in her name and will be designated at a later time. Ward Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
