Evelyn E. Woerner

Evelyn E. Woerner, 82, of Linn, Kansas, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Linn Community Nursing Home. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20 at Zion Lutheran Church, Linn. The Rev. David Gruoner officiated. Barbara Ruhnke played the organ while the congregation sang “I Know That My Redeemer Lives”, “Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me” and “Abide With Me”. The pallbearers were Ned Peters, Bryce Peters, Cory Woerner, Craig Lindhorst, Christopher Woerner and Brandon Woerner. The honorary pallbearers were Doug Reith, Don Reith, Lowell Reith, Joshua Dunham and Jeremiah Dunham. Burial was in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Linn. Evelyn was born October 27, 1928 near Linn, Kansas, the daughter of George and Ida (Meyer) Ohlde. On September 27, 1953 she married Raymond Lowell Woerner at St. John Lutheran Church, Palmer. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Raymond; four sons, Michael (Beth) Woerner, Washington, Kan., Craig (Doris) Woerner, Greenleaf, Kan., Kent (Anita) Woerner, Beloit, Kan., and Kevin (Michelle) Woerner, Linn; sister, Lorene Peters, Linn; sister-in-law, Oletha Reith, Linn; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to Lutheran Hour and/or Zion Lutheran Church.
