Eleanor M. Tremblay, 91, of Washington, Kansas, died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Washington. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Washington. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30 at the church. Father David Metz will officiate. Sheila Ouellette will play the organ while Christy L'Ecuyer sings "Be Not Afraid", "Amazing Grace" and "Here I Am Lord". The pallbearers will be Scott Tegethoff, Thadd Tremblay, Tyler Tremblay, Corey Dusin, Taylor Stelter and Boone Tyler. Burial will be in the Washington City Cemetery. Eleanor was born February 27, 1920 at Greenleaf, Kansas, the daughter of John Phillip and Flora (Wilson) Klataske. On November 8, 1939 she married Oliver Tremblay at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greenleaf. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, reading and dancing the polka. Eleanor also enjoyed playing the organ, harmonica and accordion, all of which she was self taught. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver Tremblay, on May 7, 1994; two brothers, Francis and Lawrence Klataske; five sisters, Anna Klozenbucher, Mary White Schwartz, Agnes McHugh, Alvena Gieber and Madelyn Hora-Nemec. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Sandie Haselhorst) Tremblay, Hays, Kan., and Steven (Karen) Tremblay, Washington, Kan.; two daughters, Janice (Vernon) Tegethoff, and Carolyn (Bob) Dusin, all of Washington, Kan.; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
