O'Leta G. Nutsch

O'Leta G. Nutsch, 71, of Haddam, Kansas, died March 16, 2011 at the Salina Regional Hospital. A graveside funeral service and burial was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19 at the Haddam City Cemetery. The Rev. Randy Jellison-Knock officiated. O'Leta was born September 28, 1939 at Haddam, Kansas, the daughter of Nigel and Margaret (West) Kirkpatrick. She was baptized on May 20, 1951 at the Morrowville Methodist Church. In 1957 she graduated from Haddam High School. On May 4, 1957 she married Alfred Nutsch at Munden, Kansas. O'Leta was a homemaker and helped with the family farm and construction business near Haddam. In recent years she enjoyed working at Brown's Honey Farm at Haddam. She enjoyed reading books, gardening, flowers, watching birds and family genealogy. She also enjoyed quilting and sewing, making arts and crafts and flea markets. Before Alfred passed away they would spend the winters in Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; son, Dean; brother, Geary Kirkpatrick; and one granddaughter, Charity Reeve. Survivors include her son, Perry (Deb) Nutsch, Washington; daughter, Sharon Rogge, Salina; daughter-in-law, Karen Nutsch, Haddam; two brothers, Carol "Short" Kirkpatrick, Haddam, and Dwight (Marge) Kirkpatrick, Grove, Okla.; two grandchildren, Amy and Luke; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin and MaKayla. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Ward Funeral Home.
